Fees & Financing

The surgeons and staff at Profiles & Contours understand that deciding to have nasal surgery is a commitment of your time, your confidence and your finances. We truly believe that when you have surgery at Profiles & Contours, you are making an investment in yourself and choosing to make an investment that will appreciate over time. Unlike investing in a vacation that becomes a fleeting memory or a car that needs ongoing maintenance and eventually wears out, the investment in your nose surgery will provide a positive result that can last a lifetime.

The improved appearance of your nose can be appreciated every time you see a photo of yourself, or look in the mirror, and the benefit of functional nasal surgery such as septoplasty to improve breathing can be an on-going relief. Nasal surgery from the surgeons at Profiles & Contours has improved the lives of thousands of people.

Our nasal surgeons, Drs. Erlich and Westreich, are among the best in the field and with the superb anesthesiologists from Mount Sinai Medical Center provide quality care for all patients. The scope of nasal surgery can vary tremendously and therefore fees vary. At Profiles & Contours, Dr. Erlich has set a high standard of care and insists on fairness to all. We strive to provide a fee that is fair to our patients, surgeons and practice.

We try to balance the cost of administering care in keeping with the high standards of Dr. Erlich and JCAHO accreditation, while making the desire to improve one's nasal appearance and breathing financially comfortable. One of the ways we are able to do this is by performing the majority of nose surgery in our own JCAHO accredited outpatient operating room at 800 Fifth Avenue, in the office suite. The ability to provide quality surgical care in our New York City outpatient setting helps keep the cost more manageable and also provides an intimate, warm setting with a team of professionals who work together on a regular basis.

Insurance

Rhinoplasty, or cosmetic nose surgery in New York City, is usually considered elective and typically not covered by health insurance. This is the case for the majority of rhinoplasty surgeries, the exception being if the cosmetic change is deemed by the insurance carrier to be a correction of a deformity, from either birth or trauma. Unfortunately, some insurance policies don't cover rhinoplasty surgery even when it is to restore the appearance of the nose following trauma.

Septoplasty and other procedures that improve the function of the nose are often covered by health insurance. Again, the final determination is up to your insurance company, not your surgeon or referring doctor, but our office will contact your insurance company and help you determine if any portion of your medically beneficial procedure will be covered.

Credit Cards

Many patients prefer to use their credit card for payment, especially if they have one that provides extra benefits such as airline miles, etc. Profiles & Contours accepts all major credit cards as well as personal checks, money orders, and cash.

Financing Your Procedure

We offer financing through a couple of third party financing companies. This usually works by the financing company issuing the payment for the procedure to Profiles & Contours / New York Plastic Surgery, P.C., with the patient making installment payments directly to the financing company to repay the loan.

There is no obligation to utilize the financing option even if you have applied and been approved for financing. If you choose not to apply online, you may also complete an application while visiting with us during your consultation. Profiles & Contours / New York Plastic Surgery, P.C. does not derive any additional financial benefits from the financing companies and has no financial interest in any of the financing companies. We have a relationship with them only to provide our valued patients the greatest number of options in paying the surgical fee and obtaining their goal.

Obtaining an Exact Fee

The total cost of your procedure cannot be determined until you have been seen in consultation and examined by one of our surgeons. Prior to undergoing the nasal surgery you have discussed you will be informed of all fees so that you will not have any financial surprises following the procedure.

When Fees Are Due

Upon scheduling a date for nose surgery with our surgeons a deposit in the amount of 25% of the out of pocket surgical fee is due. All paperwork, blood tests, and other medical clearances that may be required, as well as the balance of your out of pocket expense is due 3 weeks prior to the date of your nose surgery. The deposit payment and payment of the balance do not have to be in the same form of payment.
